THE PROJECT
Satisfied with the beautiful design of the model, my father decided to purchase the full plans from the designer, Kurt Hughes from Seattle, America.
After selling his part-ownership of a single-hull boat, he was left with two barells of epoxy resin and a fiberglass roll. Using these materials and his own skills, he built the boat from scratch. In addition, he built a shed used for the boat construction.
Thus, in 1995, the boat construction began, which starts with the assembly of the wooden molds necessary to give life to the side hulls. Unfortunately, after the first resined, allergy problems comes out, constraining my father to long and forced periods of break away from the shed.
The project was a long and troubled journey entailing numerous setbacks. Though after 3 long and arduous years, Muffolo was finally ready to sail.
